New Hermitage & Pallmer

It's finally happening! We are very excited to be playing at Sourwood Cider Bar with our New Brunswick cousins, Pallmer. The show is Saturday, February 25th, at 9pm and is $20 or PWYC

Who is Pallmer?

Born from late evening improv sessions during a particularly snowy winter, Pallmer slips between musical worlds and genres. Using a cello, viola, and synthesizer, their tender chamber pop songs attempt to capture fleeting moments of beauty in the everyday mundane. Emily Kennedy (cello, vocals) and Mark Kleyn (viola) had performed in classical ensembles for several years before delving into their own writing, using loop pedals and effects to expand the possibilities of their wooden instruments. Pallmer’s most recent release, “Quiet Clapping” won Recording of the Year at the 2021 Prix MNB Awards. In the fall of 2022, Pallmer returned to the studio, collaborating with JUNO-award winning producer Joshua van Tassel to record “Swimming,” slated to be released in the summer of 2023.

Thank you! Silent Movie Recap

THANK YOU!

The 3rd annual silent horror movie screening was a huge success. We had 5 shows in total and they were all excellent. We kicked off the run with an amazing show for the students of Charles P. Allen High School. We then did two sold-out shows at Carbon Arc Cinema in Halifax. We had our first ever show in PEI, and were warmly welcomed at City Cinema with another sold-out performance. We wrapped our little tour up on Halloween in Wolfville at the beautiful Al Whittle Theatre.

Touring with this crew of people is incredible. We had so much fun on the road together.

Thank you to everyone who bought tickets, dressed up, and grabbed CDs. Thank you to Ms. Doiron and Mr. Leadbeater at CPA, Kenny at Carbon Arc, Marshall at City Cinema, and Mary at the Al Whittle for their effort in organizing these shows. A very special thank you to Norm Adams at suddenlyLISTEN for sponsoring the tour. We could not have done this without you!

If Mephisto succeeds, the Devil will win dominion over earth! Mephisto sets his sights on the scholar Faust and the two embark on a terrifying journey.

Every week Tim, aka Paper Beat Scissors, plays music on his youtube channel and it's a great show. He plays lots of his compositions, makes really cool video arrangements of his work with his musician friends, and invites guests to come and perform too. This week, we're the guests on the show. We'll be playing live on the air (fiber-op?) this Wednesday at 4 pm Halifax time.
